School Trip to London; Classes M9a/b

The report about our school trip to London is in English. We hope you will have fun reading it!

Part 1:

Our trip started at the „Mittelschule Gemünden“ at 8 pm. The first stop was after three hours on the bus and after five hours we arrived at the ferry in Dunquerque (France). The trip on the ferry was really exciting. It was cold, windy and foggy, but we had a wonderful view of the white cliffs of Dover. By the way, we slept under the stairs on the ferry.

We travelled from Dover to London and were really exhausted. When we arrived at our hostel „Rest Up“, we checked in and brought our luggage into a big locker because of the thieves. After that we went to the Thames by bus and did a little sightseeing. We saw the Millenium Bridge, the Tower of London and the „Golden Hynde“, a ship from the 16th century. In the evening we went to Piccadilly Circus and Chinatown.

Part 2:

We started the day with a nice breakfast in our hostel. At 9:15 am we went to Oxford Street by bus (453). There we went shopping. In Oxford Street are many shops and some of them are very expensive. After that we went to Camden Lock Market. There were all kinds of food and drink and in the centre were lots of market stalls.

After the shopping trips we went to Madame Tussaud’s. There was a big problem: too many people. We had to wait for a long time before we could go in. When we were inside there were so many people that you couldn’t take many photos. Finally we went back to our hostel.

Part 3:

The third day started with our breakfast. After that we met in front of our hostel and went to Westminster by bus. We saw Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and the church „Westminster Abbey“, which was looking great. Then we walked to No 10 Downing Street, where Mrs May, the Prime Minister, lives. We watched the Changing of the Guards. It was really interesting and we took a lot of photos. We walked through St. James‘ Park. In the park were lots of squirrels, which weren’t shy.

When we were at Buckingham Palace we heard that the Queen would arrive there soon. And suddenly we saw her sitting in her car with Prince Philip.

We went to Covent Garden, which is a nice place with market stalls and street artists. There we had lunch. In the afternoon we took the underground to get to London Eye. There we had to wait for about 30 minutes to get inside. When we got to the top of the ferris wheel, we had an amazing view of the city. It was really nice.
